Please be aware that there are other medical conditions that can cause these symptoms.
Why Do I Need To Have a Missed Period?
To receive an accurate pregnancy test result, you will want to wait to take a pregnancy test until at least the day of your missed period. If your periods are irregular, you may need to wait longer for a positive result.
I Have a Positive Pregnancy Test, Now What?
Verify your pregnancy by making an appointment with us! Only a licensed physician can diagnose pregnancy. If you have a positive test at PRC of the Valleys, you may qualify for an onsite, limited ultrasound referral.
What Will An Ultrasound Show Me?
An ultrasound will help determine what your pregnancy options are. An ultrasound show you three things:
- The placement of your pregnancy (if it’s within your uterus)
- The viability of your pregnancy
- How far along you are

What Is Plan B?
Plan B, also known as the morning-after pill, is a type of emergency birth control (contraception). It’s normally used to prevent pregnancy for women who’ve had unprotected sex, or whose birth control failed.
There are serious side effects of the morning-after pill (plan B), which include:
- Nausea or vomiting
- Dizziness
- Fatigue
- Headache
- Breast tenderness
- Bleeding between periods or heavier menstrual bleeding
- Lower abdominal pain or cramps
